Pilot Tube Micro Tunnelling Method (PTMT)
Pilot Tube Micro Tunnelling Method is designed to be compact and simple for small pipe installation. It is ideal for location with limited working space. It also has the following advantages:
- Short setup time
- Can operate in area of high water table
- Minimum disruption to existing services
- Small “on the ground” site requirement
- Small jacking / receiving pit
Method to install pipe consists of the following :
- 1st Stage: Steerable pilot tube is jacked into the ground displacing the soil.
- 2nd Stage : Temporary casing with auger is installed
- 3rd Stage : Product pipe is installed
